I really have to say this again, “Thank you all for your support! The Valentine’s Day promotion was a blast!”.
Thank you to those who helped advertise my promotion on their blogs:
When I first started the promotion, I really didn’t expect the response to be good. I had lots of doubts whether it would work but thanks to support of readers and friends, I had a really very busy month! It was busy, tiring but at the same time, I felt excited and happy.
Orders first came in a small trickle and then as February 14 drew nearer, it became a flood. To fulfill orders, I was engraving almost every night until pass midnight. I had to rope in the wife to help me manage some of the work involved, so I really gotta thank her for being so supportive.
I had to close the promotion about 5 days earlier than the initial closing date as I was really afraid that there would be too many orders. Fortunately, to a lucky few, I was able to squeeze in some after the closing date.
The experience that I’ve gained throughout the promotion was really invaluable. Besides being pushed to my engraving limit, I was also experiencing how to handle a multitude of enquiries, special requests and demanding customers. Being customer focused is a high priority for me.
I tried, to the best of my capability, to fulfil a customer’s needs, for example, squeezing in an extra character and adjusting the layout of the message so that it’s hidden meaning can be seen (gotta thank Hendro for that!). I also had to give replacements when needed. It was my fault as I kinda screwed up some special requests. I guess this stumble taught me a valuable lesson to have a better system the next time I run such a promotion again.
I really hope that throughout the entire process, that I’ve done a good job, not just on the engraving, but also providing the best service as I can provide to the customer. And with this experience, this promotion will definitely not be the last!
