Engravings for Christmas part 2 - A Snowman Christmas Scene
Dec 24th, 2007 by mark
This is part 2 of my Engravings for Christmas series. As the title says, its a Snowman Christmas Scene.
A long time friend of mine wanted a set of 3 glasses engraved for his wife. He wanted a Christmas theme and I suggested snowmans for two glasses and a christmas tree for the third. After some thinking, I decided to incorporate the three into a scene, instead of having each standalone.
I did a rough preliminary sketch of the idea first. I had one snowman playing a flute on the left and another playing a clarinet. Well this was inspired by the fact that the wife used to play the flute, while my friend played the clarinet. Right in the middle of the two snowmen stands the christmas tree.
This is how the preliminary sketch looks like.
Well my friend kind of disagreed with the top hat and the spectacles on the snowman so in the final product, I made both snowman wear a santa hat.
So here’s the final product:
Here’s the close up photo of the left snowman playing the flute:

The Christmas tree in the center with lots of hearts as decoration:

And the last close up photo of the right snowman playing the clarinet:
Hope you enjoyed that!
