Mark Choon

Ever since I got enlisted to serve NS, no one has ever guessed exactly how old I am on the first try. I’ve had people say that I’m just 19. The oldest guess that I’ve got was 24. Now imagine how shocked they became when I tell them I’m 27!

Just only today, one of the captains in my department played this “guess Mark’s age” question to one of the frequent visiting vendors in the department. First she (the vendor) guessed 22, then 25. Both of which made that captain laugh and shake his head. Then she said, “Don’t tell me he’s 30!” *chuckles* Well she was close. So I revealed my exact age to her and she was shocked. To that, she asked what my secret of looking young. To which I replied….

 GET A REALLY SHORT HAIRCUT!

(My hair has not outgrown the No.2 cut since my recruit days)

Anyway, I’ve come to get used to “shocking” people I meet in NS with my age and many do not believe me until I show them my 11B. Well the next shocker would be to tell them I’m married as well. *evil grin*
