“Anyone CAN cook…but few truly make GREAT chefs”

I watched this amazing movie on Sunday with the wife and had a really great time. It has it really funny moments, as well as cute and touching moments. It even has an exciting chase scene! The wife was like nudging me and rooting for little Remy as he was escaping from a certain cook with a certain “treasure” in his mouse mouth. Well I won’t let the cat out of the bag on what the “treasure” is, so go catch Ratatouille in the cinemas.
What struck me the most was the scene where Remy chose to cook a very simple dish for a very harsh food critic. He chose a peasant dish, a vegetable stew, usually made with eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, and onions, seasoned with herbs and garlic called, Ratatouille, hence the title of the movie.
He could have chosen some other difficult or complicated dish to show off his talent, but instead, he chose something simple and made it something spectacular. The lesson in this, I think, is that greatness can be found in the most simplest and humblest of things. It only takes effort and care to bring the greatness out.
If you’ve not watched Ratatouille, catch it! You won’t regret it. Bear with the squeeling kids in the cinemas though.
Whey!! I can’t help it….he was so poor thing!! The poor under-mouse…I mean “underdog” Hahaha
