Just a short post for now as I’m in the midst of many things. Recently I blogged about life giving me “lemons” aka problems. To my amazement, visitors came to my blog when they search big lemons on Google! Speaking and thinking of lemons then reminded me of this very interesting game. It is suited more for kids and it teaches the player about the basics of managing a small business.
What game do you think I’m talking about? It’s the LEMONADE GAME!
You start off by setting a price to your lemonade drink as well as the amount of ingredients you want to put in. Mind you customers are picky about taste!
Next up you have to decide how much inventory you need to buy. Inventory prices for materials are priced like in the real world, they come in different prices for quantities. That does not mean you buy as much as you can. In this game, perishables do perish and that’s a waste of money!
Once all your purchases are set, the game runs. Customers give feedback while the game is running so do take note!
At the end of the day there is a daily summary report on how you fared. All this information helps you to tweak your “business” for the next day.
Have a go at this little game. Very fun, very interesting and highly addictive!

I think there are tons of Lemonade games out there but by far I think this is one of the simplest. At least for me.

I still remember the Lemonade game long ago in the 1980s when it first came out in the Apple II computer. The music came out from an internal speaker and you had to play a cassette tape (no kid!) to run any programmes then. Back then, computers don’t have any hard disks and BASIC was a common operating system in place. We had lots of fun playing it then and I could go on for hours.
