Ideas: Glass engraving

OOH!
The answer to that is glass engraving.
With the level of technology that we have today, glass can be engraved in generally two ways. Laser engraving or rotary-tool engraving. As I wanted the wedding favors to have a custom feel to it and that I want to make them myself, I picked rotary tool engraving. So far I’ve experimented with some designs and I’m proud to say, it actually looks quite good! Here are photos of what I did in one afternoon just experimenting:
Pretty cool eh?
The good thing about glass engraving is there is no limit to the engraver’s imagination. Anything that is or has a glass surface can be engraved. Wine glasses, whiskey shot glasses, mirrors, fishbowls. All these can be engraved. There are widely available templates or stencils that can be used if more ideas are needed. The only drawback I know so far is that it is very noisy while engraving. Time for me to buy some ear muffs!
